Cylindrical Pin

Our cylindrical pin is a straight rod with no head. The outer diameter is highly precise, allowing it to fix the position between two parts. Common applications include car engine cylinder head positioning, gearbox housing joining, mold guide posts, and robot end effectors. A product works by interference fit, requiring special tools for removal.

One of our clients manufactures aluminum die-casting molds and frequently removes and replaces core pins. Previously, the top and bottom molds did not align properly, resulting in defective parts. We supplied a high-precision cylindrical pin ground on a grinding machine, with outer diameter tolerance reaching h6 grade and the fit gap controlled within 0.01 mm. Now, his molds align perfectly every time, eliminating the mismatch problem.

Our factory holds IATF16949 certification-the highest standard in the automotive industry. The entire process, from development to shipping, is strictly controlled. products are available in diameters from φ2 to 10 mm and lengths from 4 to 40 mm. Materials include 10B21, ML08AL, 35# steel, 45# steel, SUS304, SUS430, and others. Surface finishes include zinc, nickel, chrome, Dacromet, phosphating, passivation, and blackening.

The most critical parameter for a cylindrical pin is outer diameter accuracy, which we maintain to h6 or h7 tolerance. Both ends feature a 1×45° chamfer or customized as requested. Surface roughness is ≤Ra3.2 μm, and straightness is within 0.02 mm per 100 mm. We use centerless grinding followed by ultrasonic cleaning to remove oil and burrs. For carburized pins, hardness can reach HV600 on the surface and HV300 in the core.

Can we produce from your technical drawings? Yes. We excel in non-standard custom production. Provide us with a drawing, sample, or prototype; we evaluate the process, make tooling, run a sample, test it, and proceed to mass production.

Minimum order quantity? For stock items, there is none. For custom items, we discuss a reasonable number based on tooling and material costs. Samples before mass production? Yes, we provide pre-production samples for your approval. Quality control is strict: we check incoming materials, perform regular process inspections, maintain tools, and conduct a final inspection before shipping. Defective parts never leave our factory.
