Non Standard Screw Heads

non standard screw heads are designed for special assembly needs. Sometimes space is extremely limited, or a security feature is required. Standard heads may not fit or may be easy to remove. In these cases, you need a custom head, such as ultra-thin heads, polygonal heads, tapered heads, or heads with a locating step.

For example, an optical lens customer had only 2 mm of internal space. The screw head needed to be under 1.5 mm tall while handling 1.5 N·m of torque. The thinnest standard head was over 2 mm, so we designed an ultra-low star head with a height of just 1.3 mm. After heat treatment, the hardness reached HV300, and it passed 200 torque tests. The customer was extremely satisfied.

Our cold-heading technology allows the production of complex head shapes. The metal grain flows around the head shape with no folds, cracks, or missing material. Surface hardness of HV260–320 prevents stripping.

We use projectors to measure head profiles, metallurgical microscopes to check grain flow, and hardness testers to inspect each batch. Each batch also undergoes torque testing to ensure the head does not deform or break at the rated torque. Our defect rate is below 1 ppm, and batch-to-batch consistency is excellent.
