Step Rivet

Our step rivet features a clearly defined step on the shaft, serving as both a stop and a positioning feature. During installation, the step engages the part hole and prevents the rivet from pushing through. This design is ideal for car wiper arm assemblies, door checkers, engine mounts, and industrial hinges.

A car wiper system customer approached us because his wiper arm required a shaft to connect two parts. Standard rivets had no step, making it impossible to control installation depth. We designed a product for him, ensuring the step stopped precisely at the correct position. Both ends achieved the correct length, and assembly efficiency increased by 30%.

Step position and height are customized according to your drawing. Step height tolerance is ±0.05 mm, and concentricity between step and shaft is within 0.03 mm. We follow GB/T 3103.1-2012 standards, with critical assembly dimensions meeting IT8 grade. Shaft straightness is within 0.02 mm per 100 mm.

Carbon steel step rivets achieve hardness of HV260–320. Multi-station cold heading forms the step and shaft in a single operation, preserving metal grain flow and eliminating cutting marks. This ensures higher strength, consistent quality, and a defect rate below 1 ppm.
