The cold heading process is a metal plastic working method in which pressure is applied to metal materials at room temperature to induce plastic deformation, thereby forming parts of the desired shape and dimensions. This process is widely utilized in the manufacture of various fasteners, connectors, and other metal components, and is characterized by its high efficiency, energy conservation, and superior material utilization rate.

 

Leveraging the plasticity of metals, the cold heading process employs the coordinated action of dies and punches at ambient temperature to subject metal blanks to operations such as extrusion, upsetting, and drawing, thereby shaping them into specific forms. Since the entire process requires no heating, it is referred to as "cold heading."
