Cone head rivets (also known as flat-head rivets) are industrial fasteners specified by the national standard GB/T 868-1986. Manufactured using a cold-heading process, they are available in materials such as H62 copper and zinc-plated carbon steel. Classified as non-removable rigid fasteners, these rivets are characterized by their substantial heads and strong corrosion resistance; consequently, they are widely utilized in highly corrosive environments-such as ship hulls and boiler tanks-as well as within the mechanical and electrical industries.
This product features a nominal diameter range of Φ1.4 to Φ100 mm. In the aerospace sector-specifically when utilizing 2117-T4 aluminum alloy material-a recommended hole diameter of 5.08–5.10 mm is prescribed, with a precise riveting force requirement of 21.7 kN. The associated riveting process incorporates a "set-down head" interference-fit technique; when applied to structures such as aircraft pressurized cabins and wing fuel tanks, this method can enhance the fatigue life of the aluminum alloy material by 1.5% to 3%. In general applications, dome-head rivets are the preferred choice; furthermore, when aluminum alloy rivets are used in conjunction with carbon fiber composite materials, they must be electrically isolated via an insulating layer.
